A tragic incident occurred in Florida, where a poker game between friends ended in murder. Richard Lewis, 54, admitted to shooting and killing his roommate, a 45-year-old man, after being constantly humiliated and insulted.
According to a local Fox TV report on the 13th, the murderer himself revealed the motive for the crime in an official statement at the Pinellas County Court in Tarpon Springs, where the murder scene was located. According to the statement, the two drank and played poker at a bar near their home until Lewis returned home upset and grabbed the shotgun he found in the room of the future victim.
The investigation showed that Lewis arrived home earlier than him. The partner went into the bedroom to get the gun, loaded it and tested it to make sure the security system at home was off. When the victim arrived, Lewis entered the house through the back door and fired the first shot, hitting his partner. He then fired two more shots.

After the crime, Lewis threw his shotgun on the ground in the backyard of the house and sat on a mattress waiting for the police to arrive. The victim was rushed to the hospital by the rescue team, but was pronounced dead a few hours later due to his serious injuries.
In his official statement submitted to the authorities, Lewis said that he was sorry for the constant insults and abuses he directed at the victim. This degraded him in front of his own friends. In addition, Lewis clarified that his actions were not accidental but “of his own free will.”
Lewis was arrested for premeditated murder and is currently being held in the Pinellas County Jail.
